2010 Lunar New Year Coincides With Valentine’s Day

According to today’s Wan Bao, this “cosmic coincidence” happened only 3 times in the last 100 years. I’ll make this post short and sweet for readers who are attached. Few things that come to my mind:

Would restaurants retain the culture to close for the first few days of the Lunar New Year?

Alternatively would they rather continue business during this “doubly festive” money making period?

For the Chinese, would you be visiting relatives collecting red packets on that day, or spending time with your other half on a romantic date?

By the way, I’ve been to shopping centres, cinemas during the first two days of Chinese New Year. Believe me, everywhere is like a ghost town. flowershops closed, restaurants closed, and so are many others in the list.

But nevertheless, I think its still a commerable date. Good luck and plan early!

I hope this is not true, as I am only back once a year for a month or so. If given the choice, perhaps spend first day with own family, second day with her family. That would be fair. As we dont really celebrate V-day that much, but as long as we spend time together, thats more impt.
