Ho Ching Receives Award

If you’ve read the papers today, you’ll probably know Ho Ching received this year’s top labour award for her support of the work of unions and for safeguarding workers’ interests. Ho Ching was described as an exemplary leader who supports the work of unions, engages the union leaders, and cares for the workers.

Honestly, I don’t see any point for her having the award. With her position in the world today, the award given by NTUC is probably peanuts to her. Something that she’ll probably just chuck into the store-room. Shouldn’t it be given more worthy people?

Besides, how would Singaporean think, when someone who lost billions of the countries reserves is commended?

Haha. Peanuts, NKF’s version of peanuts I reckon.

The lost of country’s reserves is not solely her fault as well. No doubt she has to bear the majority part of the blame, but I guess to err is human. I just believe these kind of awards would be much better off given to someone of lower popularity, where other Singaporeans can look forward to emulating.
