New Features on iPhone 3G S
The new iPhone 3.0 (also known as iPhone 3G S) was officially launched in the U.S. earlier this month. The new iPhone 3.0 looks and feels the same as the existing one, retailing at US$199 for the 16GB version, and US$299 for the 32GB version. Good news though is that the old iPhone 3G will only cost $US99. Hopefully when it comes to Singapore, Singtel will follow similar pricing. Below are some of the new features Apple fans can look forward to.
First up would be a newly improved camera. iPhone 3G s now comes with a 3 MegaPixel camera. VGA Video recording (30fps) with auto white balance and tap-to-autofocus. Macro shotsdown to 10cm!
VoiceOver is a feature specifically designed for the visually handicapped. Thoughtful and useful, a hallmark feature distinguishing the iPhone from the smartphone back. By touching any part of the screen, and a voice will speak what you tapped on. Touch the top of the screen and a voice says: “Wi-Fi switched on”
An iPhone 3G S automatically recognises other iPhones in the immediate vicinity to link up to each other. No Bluetooth or Wi-Fi needed. Big score for casual gamers eager to put their skills against others in online games.
A whole new way to cut, copy and paste. Tap twice or drag over text to highlight it. A balloon appears with cut, copy and paste buttons. Simply then go somewhere else, tap twice to paste what you’ve copied. Best part, just shake the phone to undo paste.

iPhone 3.0 allows the user to just select certain messages from the discussion thread to be forwarded. This way, you do not force the recipient to read unrelated messages nor let him accidentally stumble on embarrassing lovey-dovey snippets.
Contacts, Calendar, songs, videos, and emails are now searchable. Tap on Spotlight, type the search word, and it will search all the data in the phone.
On screen video editing is also possibly now. Edit video clips on a taskbar by just tapping the start and dragging the finger to where you want the clip to end. With a click, you can email or post the clip to Youtube. Nothing extra needed.

Keyboard can now rotate to landscape mode in all apps. No need to cramp fingers typing on a mini soft keyboard.

The best feature in my opinion would be the fingerprint-resistant oleo phobic coating. This means no more fingerprints, or face oils smudging onto the touchscreen surface of the phone.
