Off Peak Car Scheme

LTA has announced that changes will be made to the Off Peak Car Schemes by end-January 2010. Though the date hasn’t been fixed, but Off Peak Car users can look forward to the following changes:

  • An electronic day licence (e-Day licence) to replace the current paper licence.
    • Licence can be purchased after being driven out during the restricted hours,
    • But must be before 11.59pm the next day
  • Unrestricted usage on Saturdays and on the eves of five public holidays.
    • New Year, Lunar New Year, Hari Raya Puasa, Deepavali, Christmas
    • An additional fee of $100 must be paid to be eligible for this
  • Cash rebates for conversion of normal cars to the new Off Peak Car Scheme
    • Up to $1,100 for every six months’ registration as an Off Peak Car
    • Until the car reaches 10 years old
