The Hangover Movie Review

Director Todd Phillips has something new up his sleeve and it comes in the form of a film, aptly named The Hangover. It circles the life of four best friends arranging to meet for a night of fun in Las Vegas for a bachelor’s party and things went horribly wrong and awry.

Most of these films put us in a situation where we will go, “oh, that has happened to me before” or “I have been in similar situations and this is how I got out of it”. And also because of that, we find it pretty humorous when others end up in that plight too. But I must say, this movie really perks me up when I saw it, especially when it was on a very rainy day – one of the funniest in recent years. With such a good cast, you will find it really enjoyable too and if it were me recommending to my friends, please do bring your best friends along also.

Imagine, you are the bride who is getting married five hours later and you have no news of the groom or from his buddies who went with him to Vegas because their mobiles were off. And we, the audience are slowly guided into what really happened during the trip. Alan Garner (Zach Galifianakis), accidentally drugged the rest of the group thinking that he bought ecstasy but in fact, he bought a date rape drug and gave them a toast. As a result, none of them has any recollection of what had happened the night before and woke up with a tiger and the groom missing from the “villa” that they stayed in which cost them $4200!

During the whole night, the dentist Stu Price (Ed Helms) actually got married to a stripper, Jade (Heather Graham) who had a baby, and with the groom-to-be, Doug Billings (Justin Bartha) as his best man. Other hilarious incidents include the dentist actually pulling his own tooth out and freaking out much later, stealing a police car and also Mike Tyson’s tiger. Phil Wenneck (Bradley Cooper) is a school teacher and also the only man with a family which in this case, married. All of them actually brought the groom, Doug up to the roof where he was left unattended and helpless for two days as the door was locked from the inside. In his desperate attempt to send them a signal, he threw the mattress off the roof because the windows in the hotel rooms could not be opened at all.

Although they found him eventually, he was totally sun-burnt! And well, let’s just say “they lived happily ever after”.

This is a hilarious flick and a must watch because of the effect it has on your funny bone. Go ahead. Watch it. *tickle tickle*
