Where Got Ghost Movie Review
If you are a fan of local films, then you should catch Where Got Ghost? by Jack Neo and company. All the stories are based on the approaching lunar seventh month. If you are also ready for a thrill ride, then you might want to consider signing up for the Bukit Brown Cemetery and followed by the movie package by Golden Village. Riding upon the storyline of Money Not Enough (the newer version), and two more other new short stories, the audience would be either laughing out loud at the crazy antics or scared out of their wits because of the sudden attacks. As for morals, each story comes with one included. And do take heed, because the lunar seventh month is just around the corner. Sometimes, believing is better than being ignorant.
The first story is about cheating the ghosts or spirits and why you should not do it. Why you may ask? The answer is quite simple, simply because, you cannot cheat them nor explain to them like normal human beings. Chinese believe that during the seventh month, the gates of hell are opened and the spirits are free to roam the earth for a month. Call us superstitious but making money out of doing fake rituals meant to be for them to rest in peace is definitely a no-no. The story continues with this medium trying to make more money by cheating civilians to buy the lottery and getting a 20 percent commission if the winning numbers open. And then, he gets a phone call mimicking what he is doing and the winning number 6666 is both the second and first prizes (which was given to him by the spirit he had offended). However, he ate the oranges meant for offering to the dead and so, he is punished. In the end, he died a very terrible death because he did not believe in ghosts. So, the next time you step on some joss sticks or hell notes, do remember to say sorry.
The next story is about the army life and involving having to perform a topographical exercise. The reservist men or soldiers are instructed not to take shortcuts but of course, as guessed, there are always the stubborn few. And so, two men got lost in the jungle and do not even know how to read a compass! Someone comes along somehow and directs them to HER house. The soldiers started seeing unnatural things and ran away. Do not ask me how but David Copperfield was Football field before? So long story short… Do not ever take shortcuts!
Last story revolves around the cast members of Money No Enough 2009. So if you want to have full knowledge of it, do make a mental note to watch that first. All I can say is that it involves the mother of the three brothers and ended in a somewhat heartwarming way. So do catch it if you want to get spooked and laugh all at the same time. My seventh month pick!
